Our roster is fine, we don't need to throw away any money. Brown is coming back, Blankenship, Dejean and Mitchell are going to be awesome, and hopefully the injury prone CJ punkass will be available. Fatmouth Slay can still be a backup, he's not good enough to start.

there is ZERO need for another CB. we could use another safety though. simmons on a 1 year deal or buddah on a long term deal makes tons of sense. youre only keeping 6 Cbs so as it stands now before they even take a practice snap. its Slay, Mitchel, Dejawn, Ringo, Rodgers, and Maddox as vet depth. but i think ringo and ricks will compete for the future starting CB job once slay goes next year. and if maddox gets hurt at any point in practice or preseason for any reason he cut and you keep tyler hall insead. we really need another De and another DT honestly.

They should hold onto some of that cap as long as they can to address needs they didnt forsee from injuries or players not playing up to their potential. I agree Simmons would likely be an immediate upgrade but if we have the personnel (DeJean, Reed, and Brown at S) I think letting the younger guys play up would be ideal. Maybe using that cap for some rotational DL depth would be more ideal.

I’d sign Calais Campbell & Yannick Ngakoue to 1 year deals, vet minimum. Rotation veteran depth behind Agent 0 Huff, Breadman Carter, Big Dawg Davis and SweatyJ. I’d also sign Justin Simmons to a 2 year deal, 6 million total. Simmons & CJGJ start at safety with Blankenship as your 3rd safety/box safety and play Reed on the line a lot. I would trade Bradberry before the season starts for a 5th or 6th in 2025 and start Quinyon Mitchell & Slay on the outside and start DeJawn in the slot and Maddox in the nickel.

So honestly I'm fine either way if we roll with Simmons or with Blankenship. Do we need Simmons? Not anymore. Would just be a bonus
